I wrote this story for a contest a few years ago and forgot about it. There’s not much else to say about it, except that I didn’t win.

This story was published in Storychord Issue #74 (December 2013), edited by my friend Leesa Cross-Smith. She calle me up, one day, and asked if I had a story I might want to contribute. I didn’t have anything I felt good enough about to give her, so I sat down and wrote this.
